Morning – Discovering Duong Lam Ancient Village

Your journey begins as your dedicated guide and driver pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to Duong Lam Ancient Village, a scenic drive of about 50 km from Hanoi. Your guide will provide insights into the village’s unique historical status as the birthplace of two Vietnamese kings.

Upon arrival, we start our exploration by visiting the iconic Mong Phu Village Gate, one of the few remaining original gates in Vietnam, symbolizing the communal spirit of the ancient Red River Delta.

Next, we explore the magnificent Mong Phu Communal House, a stunning example of traditional communal architecture and a spiritual hub for the villagers.

We then immerse ourselves in local life by visiting one of the preserved Ancient Local Houses, some dating back 400 years. Here, you’ll witness the unique laterite construction and timber structure that defines the architecture of Duong Lam Ancient Village, and enjoy tasting local specialties like chè lam(ginger sweet) and homemade rice wine while interacting with the host family.

We continue exploring cultural and historical sites in Duong Lam Ancient Village, including Princess Mia’s Palace and Temple, dedicated to a concubine who later became an empress, and the beautiful Mia Pagoda, home to over 280 Buddhist statues, providing a tranquil and historically rich spiritual experience.

Enjoy a truly authentic experience with a traditional Vietnamese lunch served right inside one of the ancient houses in Duong Lam Ancient Village. This is a perfect opportunity to savor classic home-cooked northern Vietnamese cuisine, relax, and reflect on the morning’s historical discoveries.

Late Afternoon
